HELP DESK — OLIVEGO NYC

Need a hand?

OliveGo is deliberately small. Here are the answers to the questions you’re most likely to have.

Setting up

Everything happens on Apple Watch. Open OliveGo, tap Set up, choose a subway line or bus route from nearby options or by its name, choose two stops on that service, then name your two places. OliveGo can offer a second direct ride between them. You can manage journeys on the third page, “Your trips”.

Common questions

  • Why does OliveGo ask for location? It uses location on your Watch to show nearby services during setup and to guess which of your two places you’re near. Your location is not sent to the arrival server. You can also switch direction manually. Read the privacy page.
  • Why are times stale or missing? Predictions depend on the MTA’s data and your Watch’s connection. OliveGo labels live, scheduled, stale and unavailable information rather than inventing a time. Tap the update status to try again.
  • How many journeys can I save? Up to eight. Swipe horizontally between them. Add, edit and delete journeys on the Watch in “Your trips”. All eight are included in the $0.99 one-time purchase; there are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. With Family Sharing, everyone in your family can use OliveGo from that one purchase.
  • Does OliveGo plan routes? No. It compares upcoming arrivals for one or two direct services you already know. It does not compare total journey times, plan transfers, or cover every transit provider.
  • What does the Watch face complication show? It opens OliveGo. It does not show live arrivals on the Watch face.
